造作中
すっかり初夏と思っていたら、冬に逆戻りのような寒さになりました。
さて、モデルハウスでは、2階の和室の工事を公開しています。
私を初めモデルハウスのスタッフにとっても、
こんなに間近で、大工さんといっしょに仕事をするのはめずらしいことです。
顔を出しては、色々と教えてもらっています。
写真は床柱に鴨居を納めるため、原寸の鴨居であわせています。
大工道具のことも。
この写真は「ゲンノウ」。 2種類の頭で、釘を打ち込みます。
柄は大工さんのお手製でした。
材料は「牛殺し」！という木だそうです。
もちろん通称、椿の一種のようです。昔は牛を殺すために使われたとか。
しなやかなので、手に振動がひびきにくく使いやすいのだそうです。
鑿の柄も、よく使うものは、樫に変えているそうです。
箱の中の鑿は最初は総て同じ長さだったのもが、
使う頻度によって長さが短くなっているそうです。
道具を手入れしながら楽しんでいることが、
話しをする大工さんの表情からもよくわかりました。
現在は、壁にラスボード(塗り壁の下地になります）を貼り、
天井の廻縁を施工中。
木の香りがするモデルハウスとご感想をいただきますが、
特に今2階の和室は、新鮮な桧の香りでいっぱいです。
